[They may or may not re-appear when you land, depends on internet connection/lag/phase of the constellation Orion, or maybe it's the moon phase?] Today, when I was reading Wowhead news, instead of doing what I'm supposed to be doing, I read that the Blizzard [company that runs WoW] developers put a new pet treat in the game that allows non-flying pets to fly. Cool, eh?)

Homework Fail
Well, I finally cried "uncle" and admitted I'm not ready for raiding. Yet.
Studying strategy for the raid was fun and I was nervously but excitedly looking forward to it. What did me in was the background housekeeping crap. Too many new things at once, new keyboard and mouse to get used to and to figure out how to program. Re-doing all my action bars on all four toons, Nor counts twice because she's now dual spec Retribution and Holy Paladin. I never even got to the glyphs, gems, reforging and transmogging stuff. Though I desperately want to get rid of Sushel's gun, it is so noisy!
I had to re-install the add-ons with the new computer as well, so of course I picked up some new ones. Carbonite is a very powerful add-on with a steep learning curve. Vier hates it for the reason I love it and am determined to learn it, the replacement for the mini-map.
It displays a miniature world map up in the mini-map corner with the Blizzard mini-map overlayed [if you want it to] that allows you to increase the size of the map and the font so it's big enough for me to read. Ditto with the Watch List for quests. Everytime I get frustrated trying to learn how to do something, glancing at the tiny mini-map overlay reminds me why I need be tenacious and master the program.
I can also make notes with selected icons and put them on the map. This is a HUGE benefit for me who can't remember where anything is. In addition to the "standard" mini-map icons, you can also assign any of the target markers to the notes. So I can have the blue square for all the cooking trainers and suppliers, the orange circle for the Blacksmith NPC's and the pink diamond for Jewelcrafters.
Learning how to work NPC scan has been a challenge as well. One day I was able to see the rare pop up, make a goto track to it, find the rare, kill it and loot it! YaY. The next day I couldn't remember all the steps to make that work again. Timeless Isle is a different situation all together. Almost as soon as a rare pops, it's dead. Or, as I'm traveling around the island, the dead rare's pop. sigh. Timeless Isle still scares the crap out of me.
I finally admitted defeat and Vier came out to the farm to help me with the action bars and G-key programming. Unfortunately, as I discovered the next day, without saving the programming to a profile, it all disappeared as soon as I turned off the computer for the night. Also, with a persistent profile set [which is the way it arrives from the factory], no matter what was changed with the programming it appeared to have no effect.
I finally bit the bullet today and started going through the help files and tutorials. So far I've been able to get rid of the persistent profile, make a profile for the Notepad program [part of the basic tutorial], make a macro, assign it to a G-key [and test it], and record a multi-step macro and assign it to a G-Key. Fortunately my OCD requirement to write down notes on everything means I have a record of what Vier intended and I'll be able to re-create it after I finish the tutorials.
Vier took me to the Halfhill Market and left with a cheery "do all the quests here, you'll enjoy them". I learned how to plant and harvest my first crop of scallions, then started it for real as a daily. As Penny would say "Holy Crap on a Cracker!" There is a LOT to do with the Tillers. I have to keep reminding myself that everyone else has two years of daily quests under their belt and I have a tonne of catching up to do. If I did nothing but Halfhill dailys, I'd still be doing them on Sushel when WoD dropped and Noritam would be rotting away in Shattrath at level 67.
I did the daily quests and started exploring a bit.Went to find Nat Pagle and what a let down that was. I've been hankering after this guy's stuff for months, his journal, his hat, his raft, his fishing pole, ... and he hardly had two words for me! Pfft! I did the daily use a raft and bomb some stingrays, explored all the huts in his little area and felt, "is this it?" A bit of a disappointment.
I went looking for a flight path to learn close to the Angler's Wharf. hmmm.... the closest one is labelled "The Incursion" and is under a purple dome. I circled it a few times contemplating breaching it, but decided I didn't like the look of the meanies inside and they'd most likely kill me for my troubles.
Looking for the next closest flight path spot I discovered Paw'lon Village. What a pretty place! I set my hearthstone at the inn and called it a day. I also learned that I can mine Ghost Iron Ore at a low level of mining and figured maybe my prejudice against Panda Land was mis-guided. Maybe this will be a fun place to hang out after all, and learn more about being a hunter.
Today my intent was to look up the nearest Jewelcrafting trainer to Paw'lon Village [I couldn't find one just by wandering around] and start working on Sushel's professions while she farms some ore to help Nor advance her Blacksmithing. Well, it seems there is only one Jewelcrafting Trainer in all of Panda Land and it's more dailys and collecting 3 of something to craft one of something else which you need three of to buy a recipe. My eyes glazed over. This might have been an adventerous discovery at launch of MoP, but right now it seems a huge hurdle and a LOT of work. And I'm here on my free-boosted alt which was made for fun. hmm,... time for a re-think.
So, new plan. I'm going in to harvest my second crop [I'm afraid I'll lose it if I don't pick it up today] and then plant Sushel where she can do some farming for Nor. Do a bit of research and find out how to get Nor up to 90, while also levelling her professions. When I need a "fun break" I'll work on levelling some pets. I'm still at the guy after Steve with the spiders so I have a lot of work to do there. But, my main focus has to be getting Noritam to level 90.
First steps will be getting her action bars set for both her specs and learning how a Retribution Paladin works differently from a Holy one. Saelybrooke is sitting at the camp on the Darkshore. When I need a brain break from Outland or Northrend, I'll work on getting her to Feralas to find the sprite darter and fairy sprite battle pets.
In other news, while I was away slogging through my homework assignment I did get a bit "distracted" [read: was procrastinating] with the Warcraft Pets site. Finished up my profile there and made a status report. Some very kind Pet People noticed my low score and offered up their spare pets! I still feel a little weird about it. On the one hand I'm over-joyed to have acquired some pets that will come in handy for the Celestials eventually. But, I feel guilty about getting something without working for it.
I've also been researching for creating a Bank Alt. I still don't know if it's possible, but am considering an alt to stay lo level but also advance two crafting professions with the other toons farming for her. One thing I have to consider is she'll have to walk everywhere so I need to pick an inn close to a bank, an auction house and her profession trainers. I'm specifically thinking Tailoring, so I can make bags.
Anyway, that's all background stuff for now. Right now, I need to get Nor to 70 so I can do the Shatt Dailys and get her mining levelled up so she can take advantage of all the nodes she runs across that so far she's been unable to mine.

each of the videos again WHILE looking at your notes and making adjustments as necessary.
These notes will be your 'crib sheet' for the 'exam' of LFR.
Start prepearing yourself mentally to run the first wing (Jin'rokh, Horridon, Council) of Throne of
Thunder with me before this time next week.
Write down any questions you have or anything you're unsure about so you can ask me.

an intuitive layout that is going to make it easy to find and use all of your important abilities

Rock Concert & Bar Brawl for Mother's Day
I spent most of the day playing with Saelybrooke in Teldrassil. Leveled up enough to go to Darkshore and witness the Night Elf Slaughter. Took screenshots of the tear-jerking reunion/parting of a couple of Night Elves, got lost in a cave, healed a new friend, and I should have quit there.
But, of course I didn't, and ended up getting lost on the last quest of the night. Vier came and helped me out and phew! was done like dinner.
Katuii and Vier were having way too much fun in the shrine, I couldn't resist, I had to go check it out.
So, I logged in to Sushel, the first time I've ever switched 'toons on the fly like that, and went to play with the big boys and girls in Panda Land.
Vier and Kat showed off their spectral forms.
Took me to a rock concert.
Got me drunk.
I started a bar brawl. ... oops! how can I not aggro a bunch of stuff when my screen is all blurry? That's the story I'm stickin' to anyway. I hopped over the bar to escape the uglies and fell into a pit of more uglies!
Kat saved me, Vier ralphed on me, and I made the mistake of asking Vier not to tell her father.
So, tomorrow, I'm gonna have to explain how I went out and got drunk and was in a brawl.
Not like that's never happened before, eh Red Bear?

RNG Gods & Nobelgarden - Part Two
Noblegarden Guide
Since I posted part one, I've spent two days in the craft room, and two days reading wowhead. Apparently there's a portal from Shattrath straight to the Exodar! grrr. I discovered that while reading the guide for Children's Week, which is happening now.I don't have the time to do this world event, even though it's Vier's fave event. I'll save that bit of delight for next year. I don't think I can handle the emotions of mentoring a Draenei Orphan for a week, sending her back to the orphanage in Shatt, and receiving a letter saying what a good time she had and how much she misses me.
... ... Nope. ... .. not going there!
Must keep my head down and get leveling. I dinged 65 during Nobelgarden and from my reading, there's much work and excitement ahead at level 70. New dailies in Shatt, an arduous grind for a Netherwing Mount that is apparently something very special [I think that's the "wow is that cool!" dragon mount I saw when I was being tortured in Booty Bay].[Booty Bay and The Story of the Widowed Strand Crab]
I still have to get my Warpstalker Hatchling [who is actually for Saelybrooke], and the Unborn Val'kyr [who is apparently necessary for beating the Celestial Tournament in Panda Land], is coming up in Northrend.
There's a lot of rare pets here in Outland, so I have to work some wild pet battles into my routine.
But, ... ... before all that, I must finish the story of my Nobelgarden Adventure.
Where were we ... ... ah, yes the Swift Springstrider. I couldn't believe my luck. While I was sitting there, in a little bit of shock and delight, opening the rest of my eggs, I tuned in to some noticeable sniffing in my vicinity. Vier says she can't stand the sound a Draenei makes when ... ... I don't remember what, ... but one of the sounds irritates her. Me, I can't stand the snuffling sound the Worgens make. It scared the crap outta me one night in Goldshire and it always gets my attention.
I sat down to take stock, figured why not pull my Spring Rabbit out. Sorted through my bags, my Pet Journal, sat still to eat 75 chocolates for the achievement Chocoholic.

Because I had my Spring Rabbit out, I got to see two of them make baby bunnies! I haven't looked at my screenshots as I type this, so hopefully I captured the blessed event! LOL

I had almost everything I came for and decided that it was time to vacate the area for awhile. I told myself that I probably wouldn't be back for a good long time, so to make sure I did everything I wanted while I was here, as I didn't have the luxury to hearth to Stormwind and come back another day.
I've been slowly leveling two mechanical and one dragonkin pet to take on my next Pet Battler, so I headed out into the wild to do some pet battles, and see if I could find some copper ore to level my blacksmithing.
I ended up at Wrathscale Point and decided to go in to see my old friend The Kurken. Funny, I remembered him as bigger and scarier!

I headed over to Silvermyst Isle, just to whack some Owlkins. I still haven't forgiven them for scaring me so badly when I wandered into their midst looking for a copper node around level 9 or so. "Oh, they drop linen! I can level my First Aid!"
I cleaned them out, leaving a pile of orange carcasses blanketing the island. I made a little game of it, seeing how far away I could target them, cast a killing blow, and time it right so they died and fell over, just as I walked up to them to grab their loot! Good hand/eye coordination practice I told myself.
Took a stroll along the beach for some flotsam to loot.

Gave Megwyn [is that her name? the lost night elf sitting on the beach crying?], anyway, gave her a hug. I didn't have the quest to walk her across the island to reunite her with her father, but assured her that he was OK and some lo-level draenei would be along soon to take her back to him.

I ended up at the Exodar so put some stuff in the bank and went to the Auction House to see if there was some ore for not too much gold to help with the smelting and blacksmithing. I ended up spending too much, but got some mithril and truesilver ore to smelt and now have grayed out the mithril.
Hopefully one day I'll be able to get some truesilver ore and it will be enough points to get me to the next mining level. I think I only need 4 points. So frustrating. Even worse, knowing I have to do it again with Sushel. Maybe I'll look into the Panda Land version of mining for her.
I spent way too long trying to get out of that damn crashed spaceship. grrr. I walked past the exit at least two or three times before I found it. Headed back to Azure Watch. Gathered a few eggs and finally, it lost it's appeal. I bought two dresses, one for me, one for Saelybrooke. [Sushel doesn't wear dresses, she's too self-conscious about her tummy] I mailed the dress to Teldrassil and a Spring Suit to Sushel. I was done. Time to leave.

While I'm over here though, I should really get over my fear of Bloodmyst Isle, so I headed over there. Pfft! a bazillion quests undone, yellow exclamation points everywhere! The only one that rankled was the Ysera's Tears one.
I still shake my head about the epic battle to the top of the hill and back down and after all that scary fighting, I forgot to collect the damn mushrooms! I accepted that quest again, did it, discovered the mushrooms are not at the top but down along the shore on the far side of the island [groan], collected them and done.
Except, ... ... while I was going up the hill, I did a few pet battles. Mostly because I very much dislike the Ravager Hatchlings. They're ugly, they move weird, they make ugly sounds and most of all, they remind me of Bloodmyst Isle, thus creeping me out!
That's why I only have one and I haven't leveled him. But. ... ... oh my, this one on the side of the hill is a rare! OK, I can make an exception for a rare!
At the top of the hill, I actually said it out loud, the RNG GODS have been way too kind today, "there's no way there's going to be a second rare!" Yes, yes there was! So add two rare pets to my good fortune list!
The last thing I wanted to do, was actually walk down all the paths on the island, I never did see what was on the north and west sides, I quit the place before I got that far. Off we went. I don't know if it was because the world event was on or what, but that Swift Springstrider was swift! And much easier to navigate than my lovely, but bulky, Elekk!

Saw the bits, killed more Owlkins and some blood elf spies. Had a blast taking out a colony of murlocs and discovered the Hidden Reef!

Turned in the Ysera's Tears quest, one last circle around Azuremyst Isle on the beach and we're done.

Found a grassy area in the center of the city, made sure the mini map label said Stormwind City, not outskirts, not harbour, not the canals, not any district, but Stormwind City. Planted my egg, dinged the achievement, looted my egg, ate my last chocolate, went to the inn, and logged out.

I forgot to take off the white tuxedo shirt, that's what the black smudge on my chest is from, the bow tie on the shirt.

I spent considerable time left- and right- clicking on, and all around, it. Took a few steps back and carefully swept my cursor over everything in the vicinity, ground, structures, the sign, NPC's, [Non Player Characters] ... looking for a gear icon indicating something to open or loot, looking for sparklies ... nothing.
Anyone ever seen anything like this? Eventually it just faded out. I checked back every time I came back into Azure Watch the rest of the day and never saw it again. What do you suppose it was?
I'm off to do some serious WoW-ing for the next while. I'll be leaving the blogging to Vier. Unless something totally blog-worthy happens that I just can't leave to chance of her not telling it correctly ;)
